"Once upon a time" is the only beginning that befits a description of Jane Humphrey.  She is the beloved past owner of a children’s bookstore in Montrose where she shared her love of children’s literature for decades in this community.  And during all that time she actually lived out her own fairy tale with her own prince charming named Bob in this adorable storybook cottage in the heart of the enchanted Sparr Heights forest.

As you would expect, Jane and Bob have diligently preserved the original character of their beloved 1923 cottage.  There is the steeply pitched roof, the wood siding, and the gorgeous original wood windows.  The formal living and dining rooms have hardwood floors, original wood trim and moldings, and a beautiful fireplace.  The large kitchen and bath reflect their original authenticity down to the rich wood kitchen counters.  The central hall leads to two large bedrooms on the main floor and one more upstairs.

The size and accessibility of the huge attic are a wonderful surprise that offers so much storage and/or expansion possibilities.  The rear yard has been a labor of love with a beautiful garden under a canopy of mature trees as well as a detached garage.  And, of course, this location is great with its short distance to both Fremont Elementary School as well as the Montrose Shopping Park.
